NATIONAL JUNIOR TENNIS AND LEARNING

The USTA/National Junior Tennis and Learning program was founded in 1969 and it is made up of a network of community tennis organizations.  Their goal is to develop the character of young people through tennis and education.  They wish to give kids a chance to play tennis that normally wouldn’t be able to, teach kids the value of leadership and academic excellence and give all kids an opportunity to fully develop their tennis skills.

USTA FLORIDA SECTION FOUNDATION

The USTA Florida Section Foundation Inc. was founded in 2004 and is the charitable organization that carries out the charitable purposes of USTA Florida.  They provide grants for after school and physical education programs for at-risk and special population children in Florida.  They also provide grants for the repair, renovation and building of quality public tennis facilities as well as programming and instruction.  Click on the link to get additional information about this charitable organization.

 

 

USTA WHEELCHAIR TENNIS

In 1998 the United States Tennis Association assumed responsibility for wheelchair tennis in America from the National Foundation for Wheelchair Tennis.

Since then the USTA has become the first National Governing Body of both Olympic and Paralympic tennis governing Paralympics, Para Pan Am Games, and World Team Cup. Click on the link to get additional information about this charitable organization.

 

 

KIDS SERVING KIDS

SHARE THE LOVE

USTA Florida uses 90% of their annual budget to directly support community tennis programs throughout Florida and is a not-for-profit tennis association. They are committed to promoting and developing tennis as an enjoyable sport contributing to good health, character, and responsible citizenship.  Share the Love is an outreach initiative to help ensure current and future generations play tennis for a lifetime.

 

 

YOUTH TENNIS FOUNDATION OF FL, INC.

The Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida, Inc is a nonprofit organization established in 1962 that supports the development of youth tennis in Florida.  Their goal is to introduce children to the benefits of tennis, provide scholarships, grants and awards.  Click on the link to find out more about this organization.

 

 

WOMEN PLAYING FOR T.I.M.E

Women Playing For T.I.M.E. (WPFT), founded in 1993, is a volunteer organization dedicated to making a positive impact on women facing cancer.  Since its inception, WPFT has raised nearly $8.2 million through signature golf and tennis tournaments and a variety of other events throughout the year.  Funds directly benefit cancer Technology, Immediate diagnosis, Mammography and Education (T.I.M.E.) at M. NJTL FIRST SERVE

Last year, the NJTL was rebranded as the USTA National Junior Tennis and Learning network to emphasize its commitment to develop the character of young people not only through tennis, but education as well.  In continuation of this commitment, the USTA has acquired all rights to First Serve, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and its programs, including the First Serve Life Skills CurriculumTM.  Click on the link to find out more information about this program.   The First Serve Life Skills Curriculum™ is a successful and effective method, utilizing tennis with the sole purpose of empowering youth with the skills, values and experience they need to be responsible and productive citizens.

 

PLAY TENNIS LICENSE PLATE

The USTA Florida Section Foundation is very excited to announce that a PLAY TENNIS! license plate is available from the Department of Motor Vehicles in the State of Florida. Each purchase will help the USTA Florida Section Foundation achieve its mission “to improve the health and quality of life of Floridians through tennis.”90% of all proceeds from the “Play Tennis!” plate will allow the Foundation to assist charitable organizations in operating tennis programs for Florida’s youth and special needs populations, along with building and renovating public tennis courts.
